Environment of Mundane

We transition from the 5th house of the “inner-child” and creation into a new environment of an even clearer self-definition, and boundaries. In the 6th house we make assessments of ourselves and the technical skills that we actually have toward our talents. We begin to differentiate between our power and capabilities of our own nature – and we also see our limits and with that we understand the consequences of not respecting our limits, to avoid stress and diseases. The 6th house goes beyond what is just on the inside but also what surrounds us. Traditionally the 6th house is expressed as work and health, but what it comes down to is the mind and the body – and how it best serves us and the people in our surroundings. The state of the body influences how we think and how we feel, and alternatively our psychological issues manifest physically in the body.

What planets (energies) are in our 6th house and what planets aspect (exchange) our 6th house? Aspects to the 9th and 3rd would square the 6th house and generate a type of friction that needs to be worked through and solved – from other cadent houses. It relates to the connections we form in our “interactive” world (3H), and our desire to perceive (9H) – but, the 6H puts all of this into practice. Aspects to the 12th would be in opposition to the 6th house, creating an inevitable polarity between boundaries (6H) and limitlessness (12H). What sign (expression) is on the cusp of your 6th house, and in what element, modality, and orientation? All of these factors are key in interpreting this environment of your life.

Routine, Work, Health

You wake up in the morning, your alarm goes off, you head off to your morning routines: cleaning up, eating, taking care of any important chores, collecting your lunch, and then heading out the door into traffic to get to your job. You have a task to perform, to be an upstanding member of society. Your routines you’ve followed up until this point have led you to today, and how you approach these routines and what it is that you actually do: programming, news reporting, teaching – is all 6th house. The 6th house is related to identity in that it wants to fulfill some sort of purpose in the world that is practical and realistic.

150° of you

We enter the 6th house at 150° of the birth chart – the natural ruler of the 6th house is Virgo, ruled by Mercury – who also rules the 3rd house. The 6th house is a living process that comes with steady refinement and improvements. When we experience transits in this environment of the chart it will activate this area. We may feel the urge to try new special diets/nutrition programs. If Uranus moves through your 6th house you could expect some kind of disruption to your daily routines, in an effort to create a new more productive routine. In the 6th house we want to be productive. We organize, compartmentalize, and want to “cleanse” our daily lives. The 6th house is also said to be related to Pets/Small animals. As we are able to really project onto the animals in our lives a sense of ourselves. They are something that we care for that is entirely reliant on us to keep them alive and safe. That is very symbolic of the root cause behind why we have day-to-day mundane activities. The 6th house is naturally an earth element house, so this is a very grounding and real house to work through: nitty-gritty.
